THE HARP IS MY HEART It is wonderful to make music, to record what I composed and share this with listeners. It is also nice to have my own studio, especially because I have fybromyalgia (chronic fatigue / pain syndrome). I can draw my own plan, when I feel good I make recordings. Despite the love-hate relationship with my instrument, the harp is my lifesaver. I communicate through my strings and I express my feelings. The harp is my heart and music my passion ! For years I have not been able to play because of this disease. And yet, returning to my harp I feel much better and more powerful. I am so happy and grateful that I can (despite the pain and fatigue) make music again!
CROWDFUNDING Welcome to my crowdfunding campaign via indiegogo! I hope for a good responds and a lot of donations, so that I can publish and distribute my album via the classical label NAXOS. This summer the recording sessions of the new EK IS EIK CD are finalized and the CD release is targeted for January 2014. This album contains 11 compositions; harp solo, harp/trumpet (Saskia Laroo), harp/bass (Bob van Luijt), harp/viola da gamba (Ernst Stolz) and harp/percussion (Arthur Bont). I have the possibility to publish my CD through the classical music label Naxos, provided I bring up the publishing costs. To me this is a sign of confidence in my work. While an ensemble usually records together in a studio or church, I worked with some non-classical, improvising musicians, using an innovative recording process, to make a classical CD.
