Sarah and Stephanie Snyder are sisters who started out as journalists and now are musicians, music bloggers, and voting members of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs).
Deer Park Avenue was the winner of Hard Rock Rising (Washington, D.C.) battle of the bands. Their debut EP Stop & Go has been nominated in many independent music awards and has been played on radio and online radio in the U.S. and overseas.
Their self-titled debut album was released June 2016, after a PledgeMusic campaign that let fans go behind the scenes of the making of the new album. DPA worked with renowned producer and bassist Matt Bissonette, known for his work with Elton John, Brian Wilson, Rick Springfield, Don Henley, and many others. Their track “Countdown” features Grammy Award-winning drummer Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Santana, Ringo Starr), playing double drums with Stephanie. For this album, DPA live tracked the rhythm section, because it was more fun that way, and it was more real to them that way. Without the use of autotune or other digital manipulation, this album is a raw and high-energy debut.
Deer Park Avenue have been based in Sacramento, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and are currently in Munich, Germany.

True acoustic cover of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit. Nirvana changed everything for us and we grew up with so much love for this band. When we first started playing music, we would hang out with our friends and listen to bands we loved, pick out the chords and the solos and talk about life. Nirvana has been the soundtrack for a major part of our lives. Happy Birthday, Kurt. You are loved and missed by all of us.
We recorded this video in one take. We found a cool little club in the middle of Munich, did a quick setup, camera and a couple room mics, and jammed. That's really what the best memories are made of. The sound experience you're getting is the sound you'd hear if you were sitting on that cold cement floor right in front of us in this empty dance hall.
Gearheads, please read on: Sarah is playing her new Alvarez Masterworks A66 acoustic guitar, made of solid mahogany. Stephanie is playing a Dixon Artisan Chris Brady Australian rose gum snare, with the Dixon Cajon Pedal Plus, and an LP Americana Series cajon. We recorded the room sound with two Audix CX212Bs.
