Sue Foley gave Vintage Guitar an exclusive first look at her new video for “Hurricane Girl.” Her new album Pinky’s Blues is scheduled for release October 22 on Stony Plain Records.
“‘Hurricane Girl’ was a surprise track that was almost made up on the spot,” she said. “It was late and we’d been recording all day. We were ready to go home, but I started playing an Elmore James-style shuffle and the band jumped in. We even had our good friend, Jimmie Vaughan, help with some down-and-dirty rhythm. This song was something I’d written about a girl who just wants to cause trouble and tear down someone’s world, but I hadn’t shown it to anyone. We were all exhausted, but we gave it all we had, and it turned into a pretty badass song.”
