So I was pretty lucky in getting a ticket before the venue sold out for this gig, and I'm sure as heck glad I manage to go as HANABIE truly demonstrated that their newly coined "Harajuku-Core" sound is not a subgenre to not be taken lightly! 👏😤
But for real, it's impressive to see a fairly newbie J-Metalcore band taking the music scene by storm, literally selling out the entirety of Underworld in what felt like a week or two, and then putting on one heck of a great performance to showcase their new album; Reborn Superstar! 😁
Their overall stage presence/live sound was damn good, even despite the unbearable heat they had to tough out inside that venue...nah seriously Underworld needs to invest in more Air Conditioning as I almost passed out trying to mosh by the end and even the band themselves kept complaining "Atsui"😅
Their support band was "KNIFE BRIDE" whom were completely new to me, but left a strong impression for the audience with their Female lead modern Prog Metal/core sound that reminded me of Spiritbox but with more background Synth/Electronics experimentation, and some strong af 808 basswaves that got the whole venue floor shaking 😏
So yeah, this gig was deffo one to remember, especially since I had the chance to meet the band and get a poster signed without acquiring VIP (shout-out to a based af dude who lent me his Waterstones bracelet that looked identical to the one I needed 🤣) just a shame that the venue's heat issue made both of my recording phones overheat after a couple of mins...so apologies on the mixed footage quality for HANABIE's set, I did me best to mix it down on Sony Vegas to balance it out 🙏
Hopefully we'll experience countless more World Tours from the uprising Harajuku-Core legends, HANABIE-DESU!~ ヽ(＾▽＾)ノ
